When someone dies or you have a difficult break up, people tell you: you need to cry it out, you need to release it.
Is this even a good idea?
What if you can't?
What if you built so much power in your system that tears don't even come up?
You might get this feeling that there is still a knot in your mind but don't know how to get it out.
I'll be direct, ok?
You don't need to cry.
You can release an emotion in so many ways and crying is only one of them.
The reason why your friends or GP will tell you to cry it out is because they know that keeping this undigested emotion in you is not good.
Now, you have dozens of ways to get it out and crying is only one of them, really.
Crying is one of the possible emotional reactions to a certain energy.
It is the expression of sadness or emotional pain.
Now, when you are confronted with certain challenging life events, you could as well be responding with a totally different reaction.
Especially for instance if the trigger is an emotional challenge coming from someone.
Imagine that someone emotionally abuses you without reason. It might at work or in your family.
You can cry or you can:
- Fight back!
- Defend yourself!
- Take action to protect your personal space.
- Go to the gym and take a kick boxing class.
- Get angry and promise yourself this will never happen again.
- Put you jogging shoes and go out!
- Have a walk in the forest and let the healing power of nature take care of it.
- Look at the emotion and rather than resisting it, accept it before letting it go.
- Tap on specific acupuncture points to release the disturbances in your energy field.
- Call a friend and share your story.
- Get to the nearest pub and have a drink.
- Get a pound of chocolate Ice cream (I Scream!) and share it with Sarah Jessica Parker and her latest episode of sex in the city.
- Laugh!
- Shout and yell for a while!!!
- Listen to loud music
- Etc!
Some of these actions are constructive and empowering. Some others like overeating, drugs or alcohol are self destructive.
Some others (like crying) are just your best instinctual response to that specific challenge.
If you are looking for new directions, I would definitely try the martial arts or kick boxing approach!
It really works!
These are some of my favorites but as I said in a previous post, writing about it is not the best way to go.
More on this face to face or in another video post, ok?
Now, all the positive release methods have one thing in common: they energize your system!
They activate the flow of energy in you.
This powerful activation of energy is what clears the tension, knot or emotional pressure you might feel.
Once you energize your being through one or a few of these approaches, undigested emotiona are naturally cleared.
That's it!

To your power!
PS: by the way, emotional release has always been a big one in our human agenda. If you haven't seen it watch this video:
http://vitalcoaching.com/blogs/m1/2007/05/century-of-self-part-34.html
The video is one hour long but there are some interesting (and funny) release methods described in the first 10 minutes, I think. Go directly to 1:05 (1 minute 05 seconds on the video) for some new release techniques practiced in the sixties. Have a pillow handy!
