10pm Saturday night - Gorgeous full moon - Mt Agung is calling - Elevation 3000 m - Highest point in Bali - decide to go for the 4 hour night climb to the summit.
I Prepare some snacks and light gear - Take off on my scooter for a 2 hour drive to the base temple, Starting point to the treck.
Expect a solo climb but at the temple, joined by about 40 Balinese pilgrims who go to the crater with offerings and another few tourist teams with guides - We leave at around 1:30 am under a bright full moon sky! Gorgeous!
Make it to the crater at around 5am - Around 40 people at the crater with guides, freezing in the cold winds, waiting for the sun rise - Gorgeous!
Another magnificent journey under the stars.
Apparently, there was an earthquake that night around 4am just when we reached the crater.
My mind is reset with clear new insights.
So many friends I would have been happy to join forces with on this mystical journey.
